Learn about using California Natives for your garden. Even with summer-dormant plants you can have a garden that is inviting at any time of the year. With careful planning and planting, you can have year-round color and texture in your garden while conserving water and providing habitat for local birds and pollinators.
Presenter Master Gardener Delle Maxwell: Delle is a Master Gardener representing San Mateo and San Francisco counties, serving since 2014. She has also been a volunteer for 16 years at the San Francisco Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum where she works in the nursery doing plant propagation, and serves as Board Chair for the San Francisco Botanical Garden Society. Her personal interests in gardening are in drought-tolerant plants, especially California natives, cacti, and succulents. Her garden in Portola Valley has been on the Going Native Garden Tour many times.
