Keep Your Garden Humming: How to Attract Pollinators to the Garden

In this workshop you will learn how to attract hummingbirds, bees and butterflies to your garden.  You will discover which plants and planting methods work best to create a habitat garden which is absolutely perfect for beckoning these creatures to your garden.  In return, you will be rewarded with a garden which is full of life, movement and beauty.

Presenter Master Gardener Arete Nicholas, R.N., M.A. Gerontology:  Arete is a Registered Nurse and experienced Master gardener who brings her passion for health and healing in the clinical setting to the garden settings under her watch.  Arete graduated from the 2014 Master Gardening class and has an award-winning garden in San Francisco’s Noe Valley neighborhood.  Her garden was featured on the 2014 nd 2018 Noe Valley Garden Tour and also won 2nd place in the 2014 San Francisco Flowercraft Great Garden Contest. Arete has served as past Vice President of the San Mateo and San Francisco Counties Master Gardener Program in 2015-2016.  Her special interests are California native plants, container gardening and creating pollinator gardens.  She also enjoys therapeutic gardens for patients and staff in healthcare settings.

Registration:  Not required.

Parking: Civic Center Bart/Muni Station.  Nearby lots and metered street parking available.
