Event Details

 In this class, you’ll learn all about winter pruning for deciduous fruit trees, grapes, cane berries and roses. You’ll also learn why we prune, and how pruning maximizes tree health and fruit production. And you’ll learn how to identify dead, damaged and dying wood. The class will cover pruning techniques, as well as timing of which trees to prune when.

Presenter Lisa Putnam:  Lisa has a BS in Agricultural Economics from UC Davis, and also studied nutrition science. She currently operates a sustainable organic farm in Woodside, and is a UC Master Gardener and Master Composter. Lisa teaches both summer and winter vegetable gardening at several Bay Area locations.

Presenter Kathleen Putnam:  Kathleen is a professional organic vegetable gardener serving the Mid-Peninsula. She is an Int’l Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist, and has a degree in Environmental Horticulture from City College of San Francisco.

This class is free but pre-registration is required. Seating is limited.
