Event Details

UCCE Master Gardeners of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties are pleased to announce the Ribbon-Cutting for the Gardening Education Center and 2018 Class Graduation at the San Mateo County Event Center site.

Please join us for this extraordinary event! Tour our new facilities and meet the newest class of UCCE Master Gardeners. The Gardening Education Center is our latest project. After more than two years of research, planning, fund raising, and negotiations, a beautiful site with three small greenhouses, demonstration beds, and space to provide educational classes to the public have evolved.

The new resource will help our Master Gardener program extend research-based knowledge and information on home horticulture, pest management, and sustainable landscape practices and to showcase the latest “green” technologies and water-wise practices to the community. Our goal is to educate and motivate people to create healthier gardens and communities.

The festivities will begin at 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, at the Gardening Education Center on the San Mateo County Event Center (formerly the county fairgrounds) site, 2495 S. Delaware St., San Mateo. Enter at the Jockey Club entrance on S. Delaware Street and drive to the left where you will see the GEC backing onto Saratoga Drive. The CEO of the Event Center and the President of the San Mateo County Supervisors will be with us.
