The UC Master Gardener Volunteer Program is a public service and outreach program under the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources department, administered locally by participating UC Cooperative Extension county offices.  Our mission is to extend research-based knowledge and information on home horticulture, pest management and sustainable landscape practices to county residents by teaching workshops, hosting plant clinics, managing impactful projects, running demonstration gardens, and answering individual questions received via our Helpline.  Our 200 volunteers complete a 16-week, 60+ hour training program and remain certified on a yearly basis through continuing education and volunteering on a variety of projects.
