Spring Edibles Series: Planning a Year-Round Garden

Description:  Our mild Mediterranean climate allows us to easily grow vegetables year-round.  This overview class will help you focus on the wonderful fresh garden vegetables that you can enjoy year-round by using the Planting Calendars for San Mateo and San Francisco Counties available for downloading from the Master Gardener website.   You will learn to sequence your planting schedule beginning with early summer vegetables using the charts supplied.

Co-Presenter Master Gardener Carol O’Donnell: Carol has been a Master Gardener since 2006. For 15 years, she has maintained a plot at Beresford Park Community Garden in San Mateo. She gardens at her home and particularly enjoys growing vegetables. Her current focus is working and teaching at the 5,000 square foot Gardening Education Center (GEC), the Master Gardener demonstration garden at the San Mateo County Event Center.

Co-Presenter Master Gardener Jonathan Propp: Jonathan has been a Master Gardener since 2008. He lectures frequently on growing organic fruits and vegetables in the home garden.
