In this class you will learn how to turn kitchen scraps and yard waste into sweet-smelling compost to improve your clay garden soil and grow a bounty of healthy plants. Topics will include: what is compost; what to add and what to avoid adding to a compost pile; how to build a pile and different types of piles; troubleshooting; and uses of finished compost.

Presenter: Master Gardener Leslie Muennemann is also a Master Composter and has five active compost piles in her yard. She has been making compost and spreading it in her garden for nearly 30 years.

This class is free but pre-registration is required. Seating is limited.
