UCCE Master Gardeners are volunteers trained and certified by the University of California to provide community service and educational outreach that helps home gardeners and community organizations garden sustainably and create a healthy environment.
Throughout California, more than 50 counties participate in the statewide Master Gardener Program. The San Mateo and San Francisco County program began as a handful of volunteers trained by our friends in the Santa Clara County Master Gardener program, and in 2006 we began our own annual training program for volunteers. Our program now includes more than 200 volunteers who live and work in San Mateo and San Francisco Counties. We help gardeners throughout these counties, including areas such as:
Atherton, Belmont, Brisbane, Broadmoor, Burlingame, Burlingame Hills, Colma, Daly City, Devonshire, East Palo Alto, El Granada, Emerald Lake Hills, Foster City, Half Moon Bay, Highlands-Baywood Park, Hillsborough, Kings Mountain, La Honda, Ladera, Loma Mar, Menlo Oaks, Menlo Park, Millbrae, Montara, Moss Beach, North Fair Oaks, Pacifica, Palomar Park, Pescadero, Portola Valley, Princeton-by-the-Sea, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Carlos, San Francisco, San Gregorio, San Mateo, Sky Londa, South San Francisco, West Menlo Park and Woodside
