Pacifica Gardens
Pacifica Gardens is a community-run urban agricultural garden whose mission is to "educate, cultivate, and inspire the community to grow food locally." The approximately 30,000 square foot garden features over forty vegetable and herb beds, native plant gardens and a small orchard. UC Master Gardener volunteers work alongside community volunteers to teach visitors on how to grow vegetables and fruit at home. All produce grown at the garden is donated to the Pacifica Resource Center, an organization that provides a food pantry, housing assistance and other critical services to the Pacifica community.
Project goals include donating 3,000 pounds of fresh produce each year as well as offering educational programs to the community. Pacifica Gardens provides a beautiful and inspiring environment in which the community can work together to attain these goals.
