The UC Master Gardeners of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties are offering a series of virtual classes on "Spring Edibles". This series includes five classes that will provide you with the knowledge you need to get your garden ready and producing. Each class will cover a different gardening topic and be presented by experienced and knowledgeable UC Master Gardeners.
Class enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required for each event.

Eliana Bushwalter UC Master Gardener, 2018
Eliana loves working in the garden and volunteering with UC Master Gardeners when she is not traveling and hiking in our national parks. She grew up with a love for the outdoors and, as the daughter of an entomologist whose life work focused on integrated pest management (IPM) and biological control, Eliana developed a love of insects and the role they play in our natural world.

Judith Dean UC Master Gardener, 2006
Judith Dean has been a Master Gardener since 2006 and has attended propagation classes at Foothill College, SF Botanical Garden, and Filoli. She is a long term propagator of tomatoes and other vegetables from seed.

Kathy Fleming UC Master Gardener, 2006
Kathy loves creating a balance at her Peninsula home by growing culinary herbs and flowers in containers and her perennial landscape. She uses the herbs and edible flowers in many recipes, either fresh and/or dried, and loves sharing them with friends and neighbors. Kathy has been a Master Gardener since 2006 and always enjoys speaking and sharing ideas about her passion.

Cindi Morris UC Master Gardener, 2010
Cindi has had a love affair with plants since 4th grade. Her father worked at Ferry Morse Seed Company and she loved peeking into the labs to see all the experiments. She enjoys germinating seeds and finds it fascinating how a small seed can turn into a beautiful plant.

Carol O’Donnell UC Master Gardener, 2006
Carol has been a Master Gardener since 2006. For 15 years, she has maintained a plot at Beresford Park Community Garden in San Mateo. She gardens at her home and particularly enjoys growing vegetables. Her current focus is working and teaching at the 5,000 square foot Gardening Education Center (GEC), the Master Gardener demonstration garden at the San Mateo County Event Center.

Jonathan Propp UC Master Gardener, 2008
Jonathan has been a Master Gardener since 2008. He lectures frequently on growing organic fruits and vegetables in the home garden.

Kathleen Putnam UC Master Gardener, 2008
Kathleen is a professional organic vegetable gardener serving the Mid-Peninsula. She is an International Society of Arboricultural Certified Arborist and has a Certificate in Environmental Horticulture from City College of San Francisco.

Lisa Putnam UC Master Gardener, 2009
Lisa has a BS in Agricultural Economics from UC Davis. She currently operates a sustainable organic farm in Woodside. In addition to being a UC Master Gardener, Lisa is a Master Composter.

Sharon Winnike UC Master Gardener, 2010
UC Master Gardener Sharon Winnike has been a volunteer UC Master Gardener since 2010 and has been active in the establishment of the UC Master Gardener Gardening Education Center speaker series. Interested in Integrated Pest Management, Sharon attended the UC Statewide IPM Program’s Advanced IPM Workshop for Master Gardeners in 2016. Her personal garden features oak trees and shade plants, edibles, container gardens and succulents.
